Most of the refineries that give us europeans cheap barrels is processed there, then shipped around the african coast or (god forbid THE CANAL). Why would they- the got the bargain of the century???

India will not pay massive tariffs, the US companies importing Indian goods will.
Also, India will not stop importing Russia oil because it makes them a shitload of money, and because there is no real substitute for Russian oil in terms of price and amount.
Another thing the should be kept in mind, is that India is extremely proud of its independence. As an ex British colony, they cherish their freedom and will not abide to outside pressure to shoot themselves in the foot in order to protect some foreign interests.
And one more thing: Russia isn't seeking just oil to India, it also agreed to license the production of the Su-75 5th generation combat plane to India, like it did with the T-90 tank a couple decades ago, making India more independent in terms of military technologies.

So the Russia-India relations are way deeper than just oil imports.
